CenteringPregnancy® is a prenatal care program that includes your regular health check-up with additional time for learning and sharing with a small group of women that are of similar stages of pregnancy.
Groups start after the first trimester. You meet with your doctor and other women who are due near the same time for 10 sessions throughout your pregnancy. Each session includes interactive learning that will let you experience your pregnancy in a new and rewarding way.
These sessions will focus on a variety of topics like breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, contraception, nutrition, healthy habits, family dynamics, domestic violence, postpartum and newborn care.
The groups are mostly led by the participants, so women get to learn from each other as much as they do from the providers and support staff.
Each group visit last about 2 hours, scheduling in advance makes planning for work and childcare easier.
