Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers play an instrumental role at Virginia Garcia, and work in a number of capacities, ranging from providing healthcare to patients, to helping with fundraising events, to cleaning up and painting our clinics. We are grateful to the volunteers who work at each of our clinic sites to help us serve our mission of providing high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate healthcare.
All prospective volunteers are required to submit an Application, sign a Confidentiality Statement, and pass a Background Check before beginning volunteer service. Volunteers are asked to submit a $10 screening fee to run their Background Check. Foundation Opportunities
Virginia Garcia CONNECT
We are currently seeking members for Virginia Garcia CONNECT, a group which works closely with Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation and focuses on networking and outreach for the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. Virginia Garcia CONNECT meets every other month. The committee members act as ambassadors for Virginia Garcia at networking and community events.
Activities include:
- Attending networking events
- Helping plan fundraisers
- Writing articles for your group’s or employer’s newsletter
- Tabling at farmers markets or other community events
Outreach
Health and Dental Outreach Volunteers- spring and summer
Volunteers needed to assist providers and outreach team in the migrant camps in Washington and Yamhill Counties:
- Assist with education
- Assist patients with paperwork
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or Trique
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons 2-8pm
- Must commit to at least 3 days total throughout the summer
Cornelius Clinic
Working with youth in the waiting room
Volunteers needed to do art projects, read, and do other activities with children in the waiting room:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4-6pm
- Mondays and Wednesdays: 2-4pm
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
