Kimberly Ann Cummings, MD

  • Kimberly A. Cummings, MDDoctor Kimberly Ann Cummings joined Virginia Garcia in July of 2013. Kimberly has donated over 800 volunteer hours at other organizations including Wallace Medical Concern, SW Medical Clinic, Outside In and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital before coming to work at Virginia Garcia. She is very interested in preventive medicine. In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys yoga, tennis, movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Sara Edge, MSW, CSWA

  • Sara EdgeSara Edge joined Virginia Garcia in June 2015. Her medical interests include working alongside patients with PTSD, anxiety, depression, or addiction issues. Sara joined Virginia Garcia because she believes in VG’s mission to provide health care to the people who need it and would go without otherwise. “I believe in providing holistic care for the entire person – the mind and body.  I like that VG tries to integrate behavioral interventions into care, to manage complicated health issues not just with medicine, but also harnessing the power of thoughts, emotions, and family dynamics in affecting a patient’s life.”

    In her spare time she enjoys biking, jogging, piano, Improv Theatre, and travel.

Jennifer Erickson, Clinical Pharmacist

  • Clinical Pharmacist Jennifer Erickson joined Virginia Garcia in 2007. Jennifer enjoys working at Virginia Garcia because of the team based medicine model. Our patients benefit from this model because they receive comprehensive services such as medical care, prescriptions, and dental care all at the same clinic. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two kids, biking, traveling, and reading.

Carolyn Goebel, MD

  • Doctor Carolyn Goebel joined Virginia Garcia in September 2011. She grew up in Portland and went to high school right down the street from the Virginia Garcia Beaverton clinic. She studied biology and Spanish at the University of Oregon. After college, she served for 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in a tiny town in El Salvador. This experience inspired her goal to become a doctor and serve the international community living in Portland. Even before starting medical school she knew that the Virginia Garcia clinics would be an ideal work place to provide comprehensive, compassionate and coordinated care for diverse patients. After studying medicine in New York and residency in Texas, she was happy to come home and join the Virginia Garcia team.

    Dr. Goebel has a variety of medical interests including women’s health, pediatrics and chronic disease management. In her free time, Dr. Goebel enjoys spending time with her husband, her daughter and son. Some of her hobbies include tennis, running, yoga and reading.

Chris Hill, MD

  • Dr Chris Hill joined Virginia Garcia in September of 2002 and became Assistant Medical Director in 2012. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Hill takes an active role in research. Recent areas of focus have included diabetes quality improvement initiatives in safety net settings, and practice based research networks.

Suniti Kumar, MD

    Doctor Suniti Kumar joined Virginia Garcia in October 2005 and enjoys working with patients from all different parts of the world.  She is a Board Certified Family Practice physician who went to college, medical school, and residency in Massachusetts.  She then completed a Fellowship in Obstetrics, so she does most of the Cesarean Sections for our patients.  Before joining Virginia Garcia, she worked as a volunteer for Doctors without Borders in Myanmar (Burma) and Niger and also worked in New Mexico, Colorado, and Washington State.  She speaks Spanish and understands basic Thai. Suniti is a single mother of two children she adopted at birth, one from Texas and one from Oregon.  She enjoys playing with her children, reading, cooking, sewing, bike riding, doing yoga, and talking to others about adoption and single parenthood.

  • Jennifer LietzkeDr. Jennifer Lietzke joined Virginia Garcia in September of 2009. Jennifer practices family medicine as she likes to work with patients of any age and both genders.  She especially enjoys taking care of the entire family as she believes the health of each family member affects the health of the others.  She moved to Oregon in 2008 to help her mother care for her ailing father. Jennifer enjoys gardening, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking.

  • Christine MartinPediatric Doctor Christine Martin joined Virginia Garcia in January 2012. She is fluent in Spanish and was a US Peace Corps volunteer in South America from 1990-1992. Dr. Martin enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, going to the beach, reading, and watching movies.

Joana Silva, FNP

  • Joana SilvaFamily Nurse Practitioner Joana Silva joined Virginia Garcia in October of 2014. Joana’s medical interests include the treatment of chronic illnesses, wound care, and patient education.  In her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, and exploring different cultures through food.  Joana was born in Portugal and moved to New Jersey at the age of 7.  She moved to Oregon in January of 2014 and quickly fell in love with the culture and people.  She gave birth to her first child in June; a baby girl named Stella.  She looks forward to making Portland and Virginia Garcia her forever home.

Jonathan Tardiff, PA-C

  • Jonathan_TardiffPhysician Assistant Jonathan Tardiff joined Virginia Garcia in December 2010. His medical interests involve helping patients lose weight, chronic pain management, smoking cessation, and health care for all.

    In his free time, Jon enjoys organic gardening, chess, motorcycling, basketball, bicycling, astronomy, and teaching and studying languages. Jon is also a clinical preceptor for PA and pharmacy students, and teaches at OHSU and Pacific University.

    Jon joined Virginia Garcia because he believes in VG’s mission to provide health care to the people who need it the most. “Everyone should be able to get medical care, whenever they need it, without having to worry about cost. I love working at our clinic because we are focused on helping people first, not on making a profit.”

Andrew Tistadt, PA-C

  • Andrew TistadtPhysician Assistant Andrew Tistadt joined Virginia Garcia in October 2006. After working at the McMinnville clinic for 6 years, he transferred to the Beaverton site in 2012, where he immediately felt right at home.  His main medical interests include dermatology, pediatrics, and preventative care.

    When he is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and 1- year-old son, and you will often find them hiking on a nearby trail.  Andrew enjoys cycling to work on the sunny days, running, and watching an occasional French film, but he also really likes going to work!  His desire to serve the international community is what brought him to Virginia Garcia, and he continues to be amazed by the number of languages and cultures represented by his patients.

Pennie Wilson, PsyD

  • Psychologist Pennie Wilson began working with Virginia Garcia in 2014. She has experience working with patients with PTSD, particularly with refugee populations. She also has experience working with patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds including, but not limited to: Arabic speaking, Spanish speaking, and LBGTQ populations.

  • Brittany_foxDoctor Brittany Fox joined Virginia Garcia in December 2012 as a Locum Dentist and then full time in May 2014. She was also fortunate to have been an extern at Virginia Garcia in Hillsboro while in dental school.

    She liked it and the community Virginia Garcia serves, so she sought a job with VG. She is very happy to be with VG full time now. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
