Please arrive at 9:30AM. Before the parade starts we will hand out t-shirts, secure our spot in line, and work out any last-minute logistics (who will hold the banner? Taking turns holding the banner.. etc.) If you already have your t-shirt, please plan to be there no later than 10:30AM.
The parade will start at 11:00AM.
We will meet near the corner of Hall Blvd. & 5th St., down Washington Street. Since spots are not assigned ahead of time, please look for the Virginia Garcia banner. If you cannot find us, after walking down Washington Avenue, please text Amy at (503) 523-7181. Please remember to be respectful of the neighbors – do not litter, stand in anyone’s yard, etc.
Your VG PRIDE shirt. If you missed the deadline to get your free shirt, don’t be discouraged-- we ordered a few extras and will hand them out after everyone has received their shirt.
Comfortable shoes. We will be walking about a mile. Please wear shoes you are comfortable walking in.
Weather-appropriate clothing. Please pay attention to the weather and dress accordingly. The parade is rain or shine.
Fun and Festive Clothing. This is a celebration. Wear your glitter, colorful clothing- we encourage you to express yourself but please remember you are representing Virginia Garcia during the parade and dress appropriately.
There is no designated parking for parade participants and we anticipate there will be some road closures around the parade route. Please give yourself plenty of time to find parking and carpool if you can. Virginia Garcia will not be responsible for any parking tickets/towing/impoundments, so please pay careful attention to parking notices around the Central Neighborhood.
The parade route is about a mile. We will be going up to Farmington, heading west and then left/south on Watson to pass by the First Street Commons. The parade will end at Pride in the Park (the Beaverton Farmers Market parking lot). It may take 30-45 minutes of slow walking to finish the parade.
