Mark Millán to join Virginia Garcia as the new
Chief Operations Officer
Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is pleased to announce Mark Anthony Millán (Me-Yawn) has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer and will be joining the organization on September 20.
Mark is from a small agricultural worker community located in the heart of central California, but he is no stranger to the Pacific Northwest. From a young age Mark recalls harvesting crops with his family in California, Oregon, and Washington. In doing so, Mark learned firsthand the importance of hard work and health equity. Mark has a passion for this community and strives to ensure everyone has access to high quality health care despite the barriers they may encounter.
“Having come from underserved communities has shown me first-hand the importance of quality and compassionate health care,” said Millan. “I am eager and excited to join the wonderful team at Virginia Garcia, contributing my experience to positively impact our communities and their health.”
Mark brings with him over 25 years of service working with Federally Qualified Health Centers in underserved communities, where he has held positions as Chief Operations Officer and Director of Managed Care and Contracting. Mark also holds a Master’s of Science degree in Health Care Administration and currently sits on the Ag Worker Health Committee for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
After spending over 12 years in Oregon raising his children and working with Federally Qualified Health Centers, he relocated to central California for 18 years to care for his elderly mother. Now after all these years, Mark is excited to return to the PNW and is eager to join the team and begin working to provide high quality health care to the communities Virginia Garcia serves.
