VG Awarded Advocacy Bronze Status

We are excited to announce that Virginia Garcia has been awarded bronze status as an Advocacy Center of Excellence.

“What is an Advocacy Center of Excellence?” you may ask. And, “Why should we care?”  Good questions!

An Advocacy Center of Excellence, or ACE, is a designation awarded to Health Centers that achieve certain measures of advocacy success and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to advocacy by making it an organizational priority. In order to obtain a bronze, silver or gold level ACE status, a clinic must meet a rigorous set of requirements that include items such as a board resolution, a work plan on how to obtain – and maintain – advocacy and at least 50% of the current staff signed up to receive advocacy opportunities.

By becoming an ACE we are making a commitment to our patients and the community around each clinic to be a voice in the decisions that impact our patients and to ensure patient voices are being heard. This is an important milestone for us and Virginia Garcia is the FIRST CLINIC IN OREGON to achieve this status. We have already been recognized by OPCA and NACHC as well.
