b'Message from the CEOAt Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, we have faced many challenges in the past few yearswe opposed efforts to defund healthcare, and we spoke up against attacks on immigrant communities. In each instance, we stepped up to advocate for and to serve our communitys most vulnerable families. This year, however, was one we will never forget, full of new challenges for Virginia Garcia, our patients and the community we serve. We began tracking the COVID-19 virus in late January. Our medical teams began to meet daily to prepare for the crisis that would soon land in our community. When it hit in March, only 3% of our patients met with their providers via telehealth. But the way we deliver care changed dramatically, only one month later. By April, telehealth visits reached a peak of 89%. Our outreach and community health worker teams shifted into high gear, ensuring that our patients had food, shelter, medications, thermometers, blood pressure cuffs and other items they needed to stay healthy at home.I invite you to click on the video to hear more about all the great ways Virginia Garcia came together and created solutions to care for our community in these times.I am certain you will be proud of the work being done in the name of Virginia Garcia. I know I am.Gil MuozCEO Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center'
