From a young age, Dr. Tochi Okeke was fascinated by the human body and knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. Encouraged by her uncle, an OBGYN, and later inspired by an oral surgeon she met in high school, she followed her passion to dental school, earning her first dental degree from the very institution where her mentor taught.
Dr. Okeke’s dedication to serving others began in Nigeria, where she worked with vulnerable and underserved communities. It was there that her passion for public health was born, and it continues to guide her work today. For over a decade, she has brought that same spirit of advocacy and compassion to Virginia Garcia.
“My life’s mission is to see the unseen, give voice to the voiceless, and use my skills to serve those who need care the most,” she says. “The smiles and gratitude from my patients bring me joy, even on the hardest days.”
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Okeke cherishes time with her husband, their two daughters, and their mini goldendoodle. Together, they enjoy traveling, discovering new cuisines, and exploring the outdoors. Her faith is her anchor, and she’s deeply involved in her church and faith-based communities.
Dr. Okeke understands that visiting the dentist can be intimidating. “I want my patients to know that I see them, value them, and will never judge them,” she says. Her approach is holistic, collaborative, and rooted in mutual respect. She takes the time to explain, educate, and work alongside each patient to create sustainable plans for better oral health, one smile, one life at a time.
