Dr. Sunisa Chanyaputhipong was born in Thailand to Taiwanese parents and raised in a richly multicultural environment shaped by diverse educators at the International School Bangkok. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Cornell University, followed by a medical degree from University College Dublin in Ireland. After completing a three-year residency at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle, she began her medical career in McMinnville. Dr. Chanyaputhipong was drawn to Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center by its mission, which continues to guide her work and commitment to the community.

Over the last 20 years, Dr. Chanyaputhipong has cared for underserved, underinsured, and migrant Hispanic communities. She works closely with patients managing both acute and chronic medical and mental health conditions, providing education to help them better understand their diagnoses. She emphasizes preventive healthcare, early intervention, healthy lifestyle choices, and family planning as key components of long-term well-being. Dr. Chanyaputhipong strives to empower her patients to take an active role in their health, encouraging them to follow treatment plans and make informed decisions, while reminding them that lasting health begins with their own choices. 

Outside of work, Dr. Chanyaputhipong practices karate, earning her second-degree black belt in 2021. She has achieved national championship titles in kata, team kata, kumite, and kobudo, and is a certified regional referee. Her involvement in karate has taught her the importance of focus, balance, and resilience, which influence her daily life and work.
