Omar Vargas’s first experience with Virginia Garcia was taking his grandmother to the original Beaverton Clinic for her various health conditions, and later becoming a patient himself. As a pharmacy student, he participated in numerous rotations and volunteer opportunities at the Virginia Garcia Cornelius Wellness Center, as well as during the summer migrant camp outreach program. These experiences reinforced his desire to work with underserved populations. He completed his pharmacy residency at Virginia Garcia and later accepted a full time position in Newberg to continue contributing to Virginia Garcia’s mission of providing high quality, compassionate, and culturally appropriate healthcare to all patients in need.
As a healthcare provider, Omar wants his patients to know that he genuinely cares about their health and well-being. His approach to care involves actively listening, understanding concerns, and collaborating to create a personalized treatment plan. If he is unable to assist, he connects his patients with the appropriate member of the care team who can help. He values open communication and encourages patients to ask questions and share their thoughts, believing that together they can achieve the best possible health outcomes.
Outside of work, Omar enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. His hobbies include watching sports, staying active at the gym, learning new skills, and exploring the outdoors.
