CenteringPregnancy®

Virginia Garcia Women’s Clinic is proud to offer CenteringPregnancy® at their new Hillsboro location.

What is CenteringPregnancy®?

CenteringPregnancy® is a prenatal care program that includes your regular health check-up with additional time for learning and sharing with a small group of women that are of similar stages of pregnancy.

Groups start after the first trimester. You meet with your doctor and other women who are due near the same time for 10 sessions throughout your pregnancy. Each session includes interactive learning that will let you experience your pregnancy in a new and rewarding way.

These sessions will focus on a variety of topics like breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, contraception, nutrition, healthy habits, family dynamics, domestic violence, postpartum and newborn care.

The groups are mostly led by the participants, so women get to learn from each other as much as they do from the providers and support staff.

Each group visit last about 2 hours, scheduling in advance makes planning for work and childcare easier.

Why CenteringPregnancy®?

CenteringPregnancy® has been shown to improve women’s satisfaction in their care, and empower them and their families to make positive changes in their health behaviors to prevent preterm birth, decrease rates of low-birth weight and increase breastfeeding rates.

How do I sign up?

To enroll or learn more call 503- 597-4513.

If you are eligible for, or already have, insurance thru OHP all the prenatal care and postpartum care will be covered at 100%.
